Focus: Environment, Horticulture and Design
How do plants respond to environmental conditions? How can people use plants to improve our surroundings?
Based in ecology, and a strong understanding of plant diversity, horticulture and design students learn how plants respond to urban environments. People thrive in natural surroundings. We have set aside magnificent national parks, build arboreta, house plants in greenhouses and botanical gardens. The reasons for creating these havens, and the know-how to do it is explored in Forestry, and Landscape Architecture.
Students who study Environment, Horticulture and Design often pursue careers or graduate studies in urban forestry, landscape architecture, landscape or urban planning, environmental restoration and reclamation, ecosystem and resource management and environmental education.
