Inside-Out: Portrait Photographs
This Henry Art Gallery exhibition contains a selection of photographs that suggests a broad definition of portraiture. Most images are from the noted Monsen collection, including works by Imogen Cunningham, Patrick Faigenbaum, Nan Goldin, and others. From pictures of artists’ friends and family members to formal studio portraits, the works assert photography’s capacity both to register a subject’s physical characteristics and hint at the complexity within. The Henry Art Gallery is open 11-9 Thursday and Friday and 11-4 Saturday and Sunday. Information: www.henryart.org.
