Learning to Listen in South Africa
Through a quarter-long study abroad course offered by the Comparative History of Ideas Program, 28 undergraduates traveled to South Africa. "This trip changed me," comments one student. "I find that the news affects me differently now."

A Journal for Budding Writers and Artists
Bricolage, an annual literary journal produced by undergraduates, offers an eclectic mix of poetry, fiction, essays, and artwork by UW students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Where Art and Medicine Come Together
Through a public art course in the School of Art, undergraduates created temporary art installations for the University of Washington Medical Center.

Worth a Thousand Words--And a Pulitzer
Alumnus David Horsey, editorial cartoonist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, recently received a Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Editorial Cartoons. He honed his skills at the UW as editorial cartoonist, and then editor, of The Daily.
