Connecting
with Cuba
When a delegation of 41 women travelled to Cuba for a mission
organized by the UW's Center for Women & Democracy, little did they
know that they would spend three hours talking with Fidel Castro.

the Write Stuff: The Interdisciplinary Writing Program
Through the Interdisciplinary Writing Program, students
improve their writing through courses linked to lecture courses throughout
the College.
Exploring
the Silk Road
The Silk Road influenced everything from art
to religion to commerce in Eurasia for nearly 2,000 years. UW faculty
and students have planned events, courses, and web sites to explore many
aspects of the Silk Road.
Observatory
Redux
The University's Observatory, built in 1895, has experienced a rebirth
thanks to the work of undergraduates in the Department
of Astronomy.
