James Anderson

Jim Anderson (BS, Physics, 1966) combines the fields of physical chemistry, climate structure and instrument design to investigate global change. He developed the instruments deployed into the stratosphere on the U-2 spy plane over the Antarctic that established the cause of the Antarctic ozone hole and subsequent studies into the stratosphere over the Arctic. Current projects include the development of instruments to observe the release of carbon compounds from melt zones in the Arctic, high accuracy satellite observations of climate change, and observations of ozone loss mechanisms over the U.S. related to climate change.
